About Alexandra Ponette-Gonzalez
Alexandra Ponette-González is interested in the nexus between science and society: how science can be applied to environmental sustainability challenges, such as air, water and soil pollution. Her research investigates how changes in our atmosphere caused by urban air pollution, fire, and dust affect ecosystems on land. Currently, she is also investigating how digital technologies influence urban forest planning and management. Ponette-González is the recipient of a National Science Foundation CAREER award and served as a chartered member of the U.S. EPA Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee from 2021-2025.
